Seamus Lynch aka Soirsiar has always been obsessed with trying to write songs while the rest of his life was happening including pursuing various careers (architecture, acting, acupuncture...). The opportunity to go to a deeper level with songwriting came via a bartering agreement with sound engineer Eoin Bailey of Clara Sound, who had a small recording studio in Dublin (now located in Longford). Seamus provided treatments for Eoin's painful back injury in exchange for studio hours. This arrangement carried on for several years and led to working with other musicians, both in Dublin and the UK, resulting ultimately in Seamus' debut album Where Truth Lies, which will be released in 2024. The songs are piano and guitar based. They are reflective and melodic, pop and folk genres. Influences range from Clifford T. Ward and other songwriters from the '70's to Patty Griffin and Sufjaan Stevens. His songwriting style is gentle, heartfelt and sometimes humorous. The artist name Soirsiar is Irish for eastwest and reflects Seamus' interest in Eastern philosophy.
